Thank you so very much for your encouragement and support. We appreciate your generosity and feel so much comfort as we fight with this thing every step of the way.
Thanks again for inviting us to the Golf Tournament yesterday. We had so much fun and it was really nice to finally meet you. I really enjoyed talking with everyone and the stories they shared with me. I am always amazed at how many people are affected by this disease. I would love to keep in touch with you. I think what you are doing to help others cope and get through each day while dealing with this devastating disease is a very special thing. Take care!
This month I am a 1 year fighting survivor of a malignant gleoblastoma multiforme stage 4 brain tumor, with all hopefulness of winning. I am honored that God has allowed me to stand before you today. On behalf of us and our two small children, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation and all of you who give from a cheerful heart to make what they do possible.
In our time of need, the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation, specifically, Connie and Erin, reached out to us with genuine compassion. Our number one need was for someone to help us get to and from the countless doctor appointments to help ease some of my stress and allow me to build my home business to bring in some of the income we had began lacking. Although they did not have anything in place at that time, they worked diligently to get a program together that would be a benefit to all. We are still blessed by the transportation program to date. They did not stop there. A wonderful chef hand delivered prepared meals to our home, which our six year old son said to mention that he loved the spaghetti and meatballs and that I should get the recipe.
Once in a phone conversation, I mentioned to Connie that we were waiting to pick up some medications. She said to wait a minute and she would call me back, when she did, the prescriptions had been paid for. The timing was perfect for us financially.
Right before Christmas, the foundation paid for out January rent, which enabled us to visit family we had not seen in awhile so they could see my husband, our new daughter and give our children a great holiday! This truly touched our hearts.
In all of this, words can not express the support and care they have extended to us on a personal level. We believe that God has worked in them to will and to do of his good pleasure to help all of us who have been affected by brain cancer to bring healing to our hearts and minds. It truly has inspired us to live life to the fullest and give back where we can. Thank you does not say the half of it, but on behalf of all the patients and families that your generosity has touched. Thank you!
