Take a Step and Support the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation in our 1st annual walk for brain tumor patients and their families. It is sure to be a great day of smiles, laughs and heartfelt stories as we support those in the San Diego Community who have been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
There are many ways to get involved. You can create a team with family, friends and co-workers; register as an individual; purchase a Mile Marker Tribute Sign in honor of a loved one; participate with a booth at the resource fun fair after the walk, or become a sponsor!
All funds from this annual walk will go directly back to patients and their families to help with every day needs. Whether it is to help pay their rent or mortgage, cover the costs of their health insurance, chemo treatment or provide a meal for the family.
Come join us to make a difference in our Community!

Terry McCullah is running in a 3rd HALF MARATHON in efforts to raise awareness and support for brain tumor patients with the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation! This time he is not alone – Charissa’s partner, Courtney, will be joining him! Read the story below, to find out why he wants to raise funds and awareness for brain tumor patients.
Charissa Kolich knows a lot about perseverance. In April 2010, Charissa was diagnosed with a Glioblastomas Multiforme brain tumor and has been fighting to shrink the size of it ever since. After undergoing bouts of radiation and chemotherapy, Charissa is now participating in a clinical trial called NovoCure, which is expected to shrink her brain tumor. With a bubbly personality and positive outlook, Charissa has inspired many of her friends and family members as she battles. One of them is her uncle, Terry McCullah. Terry, an avid runner who has covered over 650 miles throughout his years of competing, is turning his love for running into a campaign for his niece. In partnership with the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation, Terry plans to raise awareness and funds for the foundation by running in various half marathons. Terry finds inspiration in Charissa’s strength and courage as she fights her brain tumor, and hopes to mirror her perseverance by racing in local San Diego half marathons! Charissa, along with 50 friends and family, participated in the 2010 Annual Brain Cancer Walk along Mission Bay under the team name “Think Shrink.” Join Terry as he “thinks shrink” to support the efforts of the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation! We are very thankful for Terry’s efforts and our foundation is rooting for him. GO TERRY!!!

We are so grateful that Ron Miriello chosed to include San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation in his community, by selecting SDBTF as the beneficiary of the exhibition! A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the sculptures were donated to the foundation.
Thank you to all who came out! It was a delightful night surrounded with friends, food, drinks and most of all community. Ron Miriello has spent his career developing brands and creative communication campaigns for others; he decided it was time to create for the sake of creating. Inspired by the globe since childhood, Miriello has formed sculptures resembling both the shape and the metaphors of the globe. Unintentionally Miriello created a community while creating each piece, by tapping into his close network of creative friends for their creative juices. This process organically produced the ultimate metaphor of what globe meant for Miriello – a symbol of collaboration, community, and creativity. The exhibition featured the first 50 sculptures of this ambitious project. We hope you can join us for a night of creativity, collaboration and community! Thank you, Ron Miriello!!
