The San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation (SDBTF) was created to support the Brain Tumor community by providing direct assistance with their day-to-day medical and social needs, enhancing services already available, and developing new programs to support the patients and their families in San Diego.
Each year approximately 190,000 people in the United States will be diagnosed with a primary or metastic brain tumor. Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer death in children under age 20, now surpassing acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and are the third leading cause of cancer death in young adults ages 20-39.
Mark Merila of the San Diego Padres is the new Ambassador of the SD Brain Tumor Foundation.
We welcome Mark's leadership, enthusiam and spirit to the foundation.
The success of the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation depends upon the generosity of people like you. Fighting this terrible disease is possible only with the support of individuals and businesses like you and through your direct support of events like the annual SDBTF Golf Tournament.
The foundation is a non-profit, voluntary grassroots organization dedicated to providing essential information and support for brain tumor patients and their families. The organization was established by Connie Reeves Campbell. Connie was married to Dennis Campbell an incredible husband and friend who was stricken with a brain tumor in 1998 and lost his life in 2000. As a caregiver, Connie understands the impact of a brain tumor to the patient and their family members; thus the San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation was created in 2002.
Since the inception, The San Diego Brain Tumor Foundation has been able to provide comfort to patients and their families. The types of support we provide include a hot meal, holding the hand of a patient and/or family members after surgery, driving the patient to a doctor’s appointment, helping pay for medical costs, other services and just listening to their story.
We strive to be available to anyone who needs our support.
We thank all the sponsors and individual support given to this organization so that we are able to continue to help those in need!
